Katherine Fichter
Kate Fichter has been working in transportation planning in the Commonwealth for the past decade, both as a policy analyst for the Massachusetts House of Representatives and a planner for the Massachusetts Department of Transportation. She holds degrees from the University of Chicago and MIT, the latter in urban studies and planning. Her main areas of interest are public transportation, urban design and development, and the importance of public infrastructure in encouraging and sustaining healthy civic life. She managed the development of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Long-Range Plan in 2006, and has been project manager for the extension of the MBTA Green Line to Somerville and Medford for the past several years.
Mary Ainsley
Mary R. Ainsley is a Director for the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority’s (MBTA) Design and Construction Department. Mary has been at the MBTA for over 18 years. She was the Program Manager for the Preliminary Engineering phase of Silver Line Phase III Project and will be the MBTA Program Manager on the Green Line Extension Project.
Mary has over 30 years of experience in construction management and has a passion for transportation projects. She has spent over twenty-five years of her career focusing on design and construction management for transit and rail projects both in the public and private sector.
Many other individuals, both inside and outside MassDOT and the MBTA, help to make the Green Line Extension project possible.
